The University of Vienna and Vienna University of Economics and Business offer a wide variety of courses for which you may receive advanced Illinois ECON credit.  Vienna also is the home of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research and boasts what is perhaps the world's highest quality of life.

At TU Wien, experts have been conducting research and teaching under the motto 'Technology for People' for over 200 years.  TU Wien places great emphasis on the inclusion of students in research projects--an important criterion for new generations of scientists.   Illinois students complete a mix of couses at TU Wien and at our other partner universities in Vienna.

Improve your German, as well as your knowledge of German literature and culture, in what many consider the best Europen venue for study abroad.  Courses in our program core prepare students for success with coursework at the University of Vienna, the oldest German-language university, including an impressive city campus with a long history.

The School of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Illinois invites its students to spend a semester in Vienna with coursework at the University of Vienna and the The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, for which they receive advanced credit, and in IiVP courses in German language and culture.  Participants also have an internship option at the University of Veterinary Medicine  Vienna

Vienna offers a unique opportunity to study international relations up-close. Coursework is completed at the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Economics and BusinessVienna is home to the United Nations and many other international organizations, such as the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.  Some participants combine their coursework with internships at governmental, multilateral and non-profit organizations.   

Faculty-led Short Programs

Study EU governance, EU influence on its neighbors' governance development, and global governance.  Vienna, a leading UN Center and home of the  EU Fundamental Rights Agency, EU Representation in Austria, and EU Delegation to International Organizations in Vienna, is an ideal venue to consider  these topics.  

Learn the basics (and a bit more) of social media marketing analytics, strategy, and development in this study abroad course based in Vienna, Austria. Students from the University of Illinois will be taking classes with local WU Vienna University students on the WU campus in beautiful Vienna for three weeks.
