In this year's first unit, you will be looking at factfulness. This will include:
are you smarter than a member of the United Nations?
how can we tell how developed different countries are?
what is like like for different people across the globe?

Create a podcast or TED talk which explains why the world is getting better.
Include;
Global picture with data
Continent or country study such as Africa
Evidence such as life expectancy, infant mortality rate and income

Your next unit will be looking at power and possibilities. You will examine:
what is globalisation and how does it occur?
how do transnational corporations (TNCs) impact people, the economy and the environment?
what role does cryptocurrency have on our future?

Create a presentation which explains how you are a global citizen.
Include;
How you are socially globalised
How you are economically globalised
Annotated map explaining your globalised links
Reasons why you are a global citizen
Predict how you might be globalised in the future

Your next unit will be looking at Climate Change. You be learning about the following:
The causes of climate change
The impacts of climate change
How to adapt and mitigate
Golden Ticket Task 2.1
This task is aimed at developing your teamwork and collaboration skills so you MUST find a partner to work with on this! Make sure both of you have completed task 1 and 2 beforehand, otherwise you won’t be able to get the Golden Ticket.
The project –
In pairs you must choose an example of two contrasting case studies suffering a health crisis. One country must be high-income and the other low-income. Create an informative video about it. The video must include the following:
Location: continent, country locations, compass directions, surrounding countries, hemisphere etc.
Statistics: Size by area and population, population density and other key facts. Number of doctors in the region, number of nurses available.
Effects: Negative effects of health crisis. Injury/ death toll, issues surrounding cures/ vaccinations.
Solutions: How are the country’s looking to resolve this issue? What have governments done in preparation to tackle the crisis? In your opinion, which health crisis is the worst and how would you solve it?

Your next unit will be looking at Food and Health around the world. The topic will cover the following:
Calories consumed around the world
Measurements and patterns of food health
Access to food
Food insecurity
Disease and pandemics

This task is aimed at developing your teamwork and collaboration skills so you MUST find a partner to work with on this! Make sure both of you have completed task 1 and 2 beforehand, otherwise you won’t be able to get the Golden Ticket.
The project –
The project – complete a geographical enquiry into a pandemic / disease of your choice. Create a PowerPoint presentation to deliver to your teacher about it. The presentation must include:
Where, when, who, how etc
What were the effects?
How did people respond?
What are the long-term consequences?
How could it be solved / prevented from happening in the future?

The project – Create a travel itinerary for a 10 day school trip to Japan. You must include the following:

Transport to and from Japan as well as whilst in the country
