Cheele App Review: Can You Really Get Paid to Watch Videos?
In the ever-expanding world of "get-paid-to" platforms, Cheele has emerged with a bold promise: earn money simply by watching short videos. It sounds too good to be true—so I took a closer look.
This review is based on both research and a personal experience using the Cheele platform for nearly a week. If you're curious about how Cheele works, how much you can earn, and whether it's worth your time, read on.
Cheele is a mobile-based platform that claims to reward users for watching short-form video content, much like TikTok or Instagram Reels. According to various ads and user testimonials, some claim you can earn up to $300 per month—though, based on hands-on experience, this claim appears exaggerated.
After registering with your name and basic details, the Cheele app presents you with a video feed. You’ll notice two key icons on the interface:
A money icon
A glasses icon
Here’s how the system operates:
👓 You Need "Glasses" to Watch Videos
To earn money, you must "wear" virtual glasses—a form of in-app currency or access tool. These glasses are required to view videos that generate earnings.
Each type of glass offers a different earning rate.
You are given starter glasses for free, but they expire after a certain period.
Once expired, you must purchase new glasses to continue earning.
How Much Can You Earn?
Each video you watch while wearing glasses earns you a small amount of money. However, the amount is limited and highly dependent on the type of glasses you have.
While Cheele is technically legitimate (it does pay users), several issues make it less appealing as a serious income stream:
1. High Withdrawal Fees
Cheele charges a whopping 30% fee on withdrawals—one of the highest seen among similar platforms. If you earn $10, you only keep $7.
2. Mandatory Purchases
Since glasses are essential for earning and they expire quickly, users must frequently spend money to keep participating. When you add the cost of buying glasses to the high withdrawal fees, the profit margins become minimal or even negative.
3. Time-Consuming
You need to dedicate significant time to watching videos in order to accumulate meaningful earnings. Unlike passive income apps, Cheele requires your active engagement throughout.
4. Limited Control Over Content
Unlike YouTube or TikTok, you can’t search or filter videos on Cheele. The app randomly recommends content, so you’re stuck watching what it serves you.
Despite its downsides, Cheele does offer a few positives:
Entertaining Content: The videos are short, fun, and similar in style to TikTok clips.
Low Entry Barrier: No special skills are needed to start.
Immediate Access: After registration, you can begin watching videos right away.
In short: probably not.
While Cheele is not a scam, its business model heavily favors the platform over the users. Between the expiring glasses, hefty withdrawal fees, and the time investment required, users are left with very little to show for their efforts.
However, if you're just curious or want to enjoy short-form videos with the hope of earning a few cents, it might be worth a quick trial. Just don’t expect serious income from it.
Cheele may attract users with its flashy promises of big earnings, but once you factor in all the costs and time, it’s clear that this platform is better viewed as a form of entertainment—not a serious side hustle.
If you're looking for better alternatives to earn money online, consider freelance platforms, survey sites, or language tutoring platforms like Preply or Gengo.
