Many people around the world today have access to the internet and most of them spend a great deal of time on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp or basically surfing the web. When you are doing those things, time is lost in monetary terms. This is because platforms such as Google and Yahoo don't pay you for that, but rather they collect your data and sell it to other companies for marketing purposes. What if I told that they are other platforms which will pay you for doing the exacts things which Google won't pay for. It is important to mention that, you are not going to make a lot of money doing this, but rather is just another way of making some extra income. In the following context I will share with you three platforms which basically reward you for surfing the web.

1. Decentr

Decentr is simply a browser which pays you for using it. It pays in crypto currency. The platform is new with around 100k estimated monthly visits, as compared to Google which receives more than 90 billion. The browser is currently seeking for more exposure and hence they use a reward based marketing system. Users are paid in DEC (Dark Energy Crystals) crypto-currency. This can be exchanged for USD or any other currency on the crypto currency exchanges such as Uniswap and Ascendex which are widely recommended by the platform. Another option where you can do the exchange is on coin market cap.

In order to start earning, you first of all have to download the browser. It comes in  different formats and this can accommodate different computers from Windows, Mac and Linux. They also have an app for the android mobile phone. After downloading you will need to install the browser and then complete the account registration process. Finally you can start using the platform. Users can basically earn some money in three ways. These include regular browsing, monthly promotions and referrals. 

When you are browsing the web and doing other things on the internet, you are simply sharing data with other users. As I have previously mentioned, other search engine platforms such as Google don't pay you a single dime for that. But Decentr does. When you are using the Decentr browser, the platform calculates how much data you have shared as in PDV (Personal Data Value) terms.  This is allocated to your personal ID each and every every month or whenever the block chain reaches a certain level. From there, it can then be converted into a DEC crypto currency which can finally be converted into either a USD, EURO or any other currency which we normally use.  In addition to browsing, you can also earn through inviting people to the platform using an affiliate link. This is probably the best way to earn passively without having to touch your computer.

2. Cocoon Browser

Cocoon Browser is another option which can pay you for surfing the web and sharing your data. It does operate in much of a similar way as that of Decentr with an exception to its payment method. Cocoon has only one form of payment and that is PayPal. It pays you real money as opposed to crypto currency, Gift cards and other forms of rewards. It also has a variety ways in which one can earn some money. This includes doing regular browsing, and moving around places while sharing your geo-location. It used to have a referral program but was discontinued in 2020. The platform doesn't collect any vital personal information like credit card passwords, social security number and things of that nature. In order to start earning you are required to follow the same steps as those of the first website. You have to download the browser, install it and then complete the account registration process. After that you can begin using the browser and start earning. The browser is available in Windows 10, Mac and also on Android. Payments are made quarterly or four times per year (March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31).

3. Full Dive Browser

Full Dive Browser is a mobile browser which rewards you for using it. Each and every time when you read news, blogs and all these other online articles you will be rewarded with points. You can then change those points into either crypto currency or gift cards. You are mostly required to reach a threshold of at least 20000 points in order to withdraw. That is equivalent to around 2 USD. Unlike the first two browsers, this particular one is meant for smartphones only and there is no specific browser for the computer. They have an iphone and android versions available. To start earning, you will need to download the app, install and then start using it. If you need to use it on a PC, you are required to download an extension for Google Chrome. They provide a tutorial video on how you can do that on their website. Apart from just regular browsing, you can do other things as well such as completing surveys, inviting people (Enter SEFAE promo code to get 2500 coins as a head start), watching short video clips and so forth.

In conclusion, it is worth mentioning that these browsers are not as good as our traditional ones like Chrome, Explorer, Mozilla and others. I had some lag issues with Cocoon browser when I was using Google drive services. Decentr on the other hand couldn't load some of my website images. Full Dive is also poor in displaying search results. If you don't mind those kind of set backs, I guess you can just get by with regular browsing.
