Objective: Increase jammer identification in pack scenarios / communication / demonstrate footwork and speed adjustments to avoid being eaten
Action:
All skaters will start the game in a slow-moving pack.
There are two roles: Fox and Chicken
Fox: The trainer will covertly pass a jammer helmet cover to a skater in the pack. This person is the Fox. They can continue to skate in the pack with the helmet cover in their hands for 10-20 seconds. As soon as the Fox has the helmet cover on, they are able to "chomp" the chickens by tagging them.
Chickens: The chickens are constantly scanning the pack to pay attention to when the Fox has the helmet cover on. Chickens can’t communicate until the fox has the helmet cover on. They can scatter as soon as the Fox is identified.
If they are tagged, the move to the center of the track and perform ridiculous exercises (like a chicken with its head chomped off)
Drill continues for 1 minute and then we start again.
Possible additional role:
Farmer (Suitable for L2+)
The trainer will pass a pivot helmet cover to a Not-Fox skater. They become the Farmer and are the only person who can hit the Fox. They win by tagging the fox and the fox is out
Note: There can be multiple Foxes and multiple Farmers
Check For Learning:
Communication will become more specific: ________ is the Fox vs. FOXXXX!!!! They're on the inside/outside vs. The Fox is coming! From: https://fitkidshealthykids.ca/node/196
