Drill 1 - Footwork for the suck
- As three walls, practice running back to a line and drop to reset
- If there are appropriate markers, groups can also practice skating back 20/30ft with someone calling 5 seconds
Drill 2 - Classic suck back
Drill 3 - Reactive suck
- Two walls line up for the jam start
- Front wall has choice - crush, hold or run forward and hold pivot line. For this to work the front wall offence may have to stay with their wall (eg if you want to stop the other wall sucking)
- Back wall offence might have to bridge to enable the suck back
- Back wall needs to be aware if the front wall holds near the pivot line and doesn't crush back - means the back wall can’t suck all the way back
