The Hazebound system strives to achieve three primary objectives:
Controlled Luck: Many systems heavily rely on luck, which, while having its place, can sometimes be frustrating. In Hazebound, characters built for specific tasks, like lockpicking, shouldn't be thwarted by simple bad luck.
Classless Flexible Builds: Hazebound breaks away from traditional RPG class structures. Instead of being pigeonholed as a Paladin or a Rogue, it empowers players to create flexible characters with diverse abilities. Class identities, such as Paladin, should be tied more to lore and backstory than strict skill sets.
Outside of Leveling Progression: The system emphasizes player growth beyond leveling up. This allows characters to develop in various ways, fostering personal growth and progression that isn't solely tied to leveling.
These goals are intended to enhance player agency and create a more dynamic and adaptable role-playing experience.
