Armor and jewelry play a crucial role in an adventurer's journey, providing both protection and unique benefits. Armor shields against physical and magical threats, reducing the risk of injury or death. Jewelry, on the other hand, offers various enhancements and magical properties, such as increased strength, improved perception, or resistance to specific elements.
Throughout your adventure, your character will use different armors and trinkets to protect themselves. Your character can wear any number of rings, necklaces, and pieces of jewelry. However, they can only have one set of gloves, one pair of boots, a torso piece, a pair of pants, one headwear, and one cloak.
Armors are divided into three categories:
Cloth: Clothing in this category offers almost nonexistent protection and is typically worn more for support with enchantments or to maintain decency rather than for actual defense.
Light: Light armor provides some protection while still allowing for good mobility. It is ideal for those who rely on evasion to stay safe.
Heavy: Heavy armor offers the best protection but comes at the cost of reduced mobility due to its weight and bulkiness.
Most armor comes in sets, such as leather armor, which includes leather gloves, leather boots, leather pants, a leather chest piece, and a leather helmet. Wearing at least three pieces of the same set of armor usually grants you a specific bonus. For example, with leather armor, you can add half your Agility to your defense as long as you are only wearing light armor.
Trinkets encompass a wide range of items, including rings, bracelets, necklaces, and other wearable jewelry or accessories. While characters might wear them for cosmetic reasons, adventurers often wear trinkets for the potential enchantments placed on them, as they can provide valuable magical effects and enhancements.
For pricing reference, similar considerations apply to clothing. Both categories can be referred to in the quality price and enchantments list for possible items and their prices.
For example, a nice gold ring with an ruby (exquisite quality) and a +2 Wits enchantment would cost 15,500 coins to make, and a merchant might set its price at 17,000 coins.
