Runebearers, wielding an extraordinary blend of physical prowess and magical aptitude, harness their inner strength to weave potent spells through their bodies. They employ runes not merely as passive symbols, but as conduits that amplify and focus their innate energies. Through intricate carvings or tattoos etched onto their skin, Runebearers imbue themselves with the essence of magic, transforming their bodies into living conduits for the arcane. With each movement, they channel their physical might, seamlessly intertwining it with the flow of magic to manifest awe-inspiring effects.Â
Whether unleashing thunderous bolts of lightning or shaping protective barriers of solid energy, Runebearers wield their spells with a visceral intensity that speaks to the primal connection between body and magic. This fusion of physicality and mysticism grants them unparalleled versatility, allowing them to adapt swiftly to any situation and overcome challenges with sheer force of will.
You acquire the ability to inscribe spells on your skin. You may do so only with spells that have a range of Self or Touch from the Novice Spell list. Inscribed spells cannot be overcast or multicasted.
During a long rest, you can choose to inscribe one spell and/or remove one previously inscribed spell. You cannot inscribe the same spell more than once.
When inscribing a spell, you permanently reduce your Maximum Willpower points by a value equal to the spell's cost. You regain these points if you remove the inscribed spell.
Once per round, you can activate an inscribed spell by using 1 Action point, and doing so does not consume any Willpower points. However, you cannot activate the same spell again until you perform a long rest.
For your Runebearer spells and abilities, your Power is calculated as your Strength + Level.
You can now also inscribe spells with a range of Self or Touch from the Apprentice Spell list.
After a short rest, you can reactivate a number of previously used Rune spells with a total cumulative cost not exceeding your Strength.
With your advanced mastery of runework, you can now maintain concentration on up to 2 spells simultaneously when casting them through your runes.
Your Willpower point maximum is now increased by Half you Strength.
