Amannisahan Mausoleum at Shache
A Uyghur guide expounding to visitors the achievements of Amannisahan (1526-1560), who was the wife of King Arbul Rushitiham of Yarkant County. Today the popular Uyghur traditional Twelve Muqam was largely revived by the efforts and dedications of Amannisahan.

What is The Twelve Muqam?
It is the highest form of artistic expression in Uyghur music performance, consisting of twelve musical compositions that integrate singing, dancing, folk music, poetry recitation, epic narration, and performance. Twelve Muqam comprises over 300 different melodies and about 4000 lines of lyrics, requiring approximately 24 hours for a complete performance.
什么是十二木卡姆?
它是维吾尔族音乐表演的最高艺术形式,包括十二首音乐作品,融合了歌唱、舞蹈、民间音乐、诗歌朗诵、史诗叙事和表演。十二木卡姆由300多种不同的旋律组成,约有4000行歌词,全部演奏需要大约24小时。
