Beginning Semester 2 of the Academic Year 2024-2025 for Grade 12 at MUIDS, we were tasked to propose and perform an alternative scene for any part of the Macbeth play, asking "what if." We were grouped with table peers and my table proposed a scenario where Macbeth didn't kill Duncan, was kept in the dark, and Lady Macbeth instead hired murderers to assassinate Duncan.
As a group, we also decided to perform it as an animation with voice-overs. To this extent, my peers did the animation and art needed while I helped with researching, writing the script, and providing my voice for the animation itself. Below is the finalized script document and animation video.
In hindsight, this project was pretty good. It helped us memorize the Macbeth play and plot for the AP exam and understand more about scriptwriting and common dialogue and plots, which could help quite a bit in the AP exam. I don't think there would be much to change, but I could have added more emotion to my acting, and there was a switch between English and Shakespearean English, which could have been prevented.
In terms of the ESLOs, we demonstrated Leaders of the Future as we were participating within the group and set manageable goals. We were also Articulated Communicators through teamwork, communication with team members, and showed excellence and vocabulary in our animation. Last but not least, we demonstrated being Innovative Thinkers through our unique animation and script of the hypothetical scene.
