I made two poems for my History Notes.
The first was on Prehistoric Societies and the difference between the Paleolithic and Neolithic Stone Age. The words are a bit basic, though, and I think I could have made it a bit more creative. Make the background more informative and match the theme and topic of the poems. The text could have also been adjusted for readability.
The second poem is on Civilizations and is a bit better. Using the notes and my learning with Mr. Stanly John, I think I could have made it more advanced, complex, and detailed. I also think I rushed it too much and could have provide more information and factual evidence. The name below could have also been adjusted for readability.
I think overall, I learned a lot from doing this interactive poetry and noting. It helped me learn and grow my knowledge in Prehistory.
For our final assessment in Quarter 1 of History Grade 10, we were tasked to research one of the five empires from Ancient Mesopotamia. My team and I were tasked with the Chaldean Empire, or Neo-Babylonians.
I learned several key topics and ideas such as how they inspired future civilization in culture, art, history, and others. More so, I learned how a empire of their stature grew, fell, and cemented itself in history.
I don't think there was really anything to fix, it went pretty well with no major problems. But, I do think I did most of the work, which is fine, but I think I could have taken off a big burden if I asked for help.
During this assignment, my partner and I were tasked to create a newspaper with a main heading, two subheadings, a newspaper name, appropriate imagery and dates, and have it cover what we have been learning in History Class, Ancient Rome.
We called our Newspaper "The Amphitheatrum," an open outdoor venue for entertainment, such as the Colosseum, which we used as our background. Our main heading was the death of Julius Caesar, and the two sub-headings being the rise of the Roman Empire and a new alliance with Egypt.
In hindsight, I think we did a really good job. We first edited the Colosseum to look and feel aged. Then we made the newspaper pop out and show the correct imagery and our topics / what we learned during that unit. I do not think we had any problems and it was pretty fun to do.
