For the last major project in Semester Two, Quarter Four, the class worked on a Level-A / College Level Research Report. The report would cover Umberto Eco's 14 Features of Fascism, and we were to define each feature and give one example from World War II and one example from the modern-day. We were able to choose to work solo or with a partner, and therefore allowed me to cooperate with Minnette ( Tirawin Lertlarpnont ). In total, we started on 13 March 2024 and ended on 22 April 2024.
With this in mind, we received great acknowledgment and achievement with the project. Our teacher, Sir Richard Sellick, said it was one of the best if not the best reports he has seen this year and ever, saying it was college-level. We had around two or three examples per feature with photos, 8,569 words in total, and around forty-one pages in total. We scored full points: 100 out of 100 and were praised for the hard work and our research, examples, and how it is very well made ( and interesting to read ).
To reflect, I was really happy with the conclusion and output of our work, and how we both worked very hard and dedicated day and night to the project during Songkran Break ( Thailand's Spring Break ). I honestly wasn't expecting that it would be so well-received, but am quite happy and relieved.
For the ESLOs (Expected Schoolwide Learner Outcomes), I believe this project focused on strategic learners as we learned college-level topics with Eco's fascism features, and Sir Richard Sellick said this report was college-level. Then we articulated communicators as I worked with a partner, Minnette and we communicated at school during class and online to get this project done, and demonstrated our understanding through our comprehension, vocabulary, and the praise received. We also demonstrated that we are leaders of the future through participation and being an active group partner, and were an example through this project.
