For the final project and summative for Grade 11 General Mathematics, the class was tasked to choose to do either a group or individual project. I chose to do an individual project. The instructions required us to create and solve two different medium questions and two different hard questions, as described by the instructions below.
Given that we learned about modulus, complex numbers, their properties, and theorems, the questions had to be on topics relating to complex numbers and using them with several subtopics or different topics at once.
In retrospect, I found it challenging yet fun. It helped me understand complex numbers and the subtopics, including all the theorems behind them. It also helped with my critical thinking, reasoning, deducting, and presentation skills.
In terms of the ESLOs, I found that three of the main ESLOs for the project included Strategic Learners as we learned challenging topics and identified important topics and knowledge, Innovative Thinkers as we became better at thinking unconventionally and used critical thinking to create and answer the questions, and Leaders of the Future as we set manageable yet challenging goals and made our own decisions.
