Picture this: it's April 13, 2023. You show up to the grass field at Westchester Community College. It is the first day of Women's Kickball. There are four teams: Ball Slayers, Kicking Tribe, The Queens of JKI (Queens), and Where My Pitches At? (WMPA). Throughout the season, teams are struggling to field full teams - borrowing players from their opponents. The teams that feel stable seem to have an advantage over others. Then summer comes, and with it more players. The league feels like it is starting to find its footing.
Over the course of the next few seasons, rosters shift, players get absorbed from one team into another, new teams form, and every season the league feels more solid. This continues for two years - six seasons. Until...

...Big League Sports' Women's Kickball division has finally expanded to be a six team league. On day one of the third year of women's kickball, every team had at least the default nine players show up to play. Some games even played with a full coed field of ELEVEN players!
Halli Stewart, captain of WMPA, has been a key member of the women's league since day one. She said, "I am so incredibly proud to be part of BLS Women’s kickball! I started out playing coed (and still play) but absolutely nothing compares to the women’s league! Seeing the league grow from 4 to 6 teams shows how much of a community we are and how much our friendships on and off the field have grown! Thursday night is the highlight of my week by far and I am so excited to be back with my team for another season of sideline cheering, dance parties, sweet treats & of course kickball!" WMPA is one of the original four women's teams and is famous for their designated "Pom" position!
Amanda Bernstein, captain of the Red Hot Chili Kickers, was originally a member of another team. As a veteran player, she was asked to help a free agent team get established and ended up staying with them. After playing the first week, she said, "It was great seeing so many new faces and returners at the women's league kickoff! It's awesome to have 6 full teams of people and really seems like an even playing field this year where any team has a chance to win."
As always, Big League is not just about the games on the field, it's about the after party and Ladies Night did not disappoint. Teams were offered multiple opportunities to earn runs in their following games for participating in different activities at the bar including Jenga, Hula Hooping, and of course Limbo!
Now picture this: it's May 1, 2025. You show up to the grass field at Westchester Community College. It is the first day of Women's Kickball, year three. There are six teams: Kicks Don't Lie, Rebel Babez, Red Hot Chili Kickers, Team Kelly, The Queens of JKI (Queens), and Where My Pitches At? (WMPA). Life is good.
