Big League Sports has always been about more than just the sports - it is about the connections we make on the field and at the bar.  Often, teams connect with one another and create fun rivalries that can span seasons and years. 

For the last few years, Big League Volleyball teams, Sets on the Beach and Hellen Keller, have been keeping track of one another's wins and losses across both Sunday and Wednesday nights.  They're always vying for bragging rights and sometimes a drink at the bar.

Over their thirteen years in Big League Kickball, veteran team Jiminy Kick It (JKI) has had many rivalries.  In 2017, their rivalry with team, New Kicks on the Block (New Kicks) reached its peak with a beard vs beard game!  JKI superstar, Tommy, was forced to shave his beard after a loss to New Kicks and Max.

In 2020, Dragon My Ballz (DMB) captain, Chris, sent two packages of toilet paper to JKI captain, Gino, to emphasize how "soft" the JKI squad was.  It wasn't until Chris joined JKI the following year that they were finally able to beat DMB on the field.

Jiminy Kick It has also recently established two new rivalries - one for their Tuesday team and one on Thursdays.  On Tuesdays, they battle Infield Fly Rule (IFR) for a championship belt every time they face one another.  On Thursdays, every season brings a new bet with team Baddies and Zaddies - one of which was a wig bet in which the losing team has to wear wigs to the bar! 

These friendly rivalries bring another social dimension to the games on the field and the connections between players on different teams.  It has become a great way to build friendships across team lines.
