Wildfires in California During Summer. 2016.

For the past at least 5 years, wildfires in California during the hottest months of the year has been a major event. The details might change slightly from year to year, which towns had to evacuate, which parks, how many acres, but the general picture is pretty much the same. 2016 has not been an exception. A few weeks ago about 60,000 combined acres was an estimate of wildfire spread.

Housing related questions automatically pop up. Why do residents keep having to go through the process of having to evacuate or losing their house somewhere between May and August? Is there something that can be done so that this time next year, the mass evacuation scenario is pretty much done away with?
