Fuego Volcano in Guatemala Erupts Claiming Over Two Dozen Lives and Nearly 300 Injuries

Lava flowed upon the village of El Rodeo, one of the locations receiving the most injurious impact. Occurrence of eruption, this past Sunday.

Volcán de Fuego, or translated Fuego Volcano, pointed at as the main source of the eruption.

Roughly 30 miles from Guatemala City.

Photos of yesterday's event indicate levels of shock among some of the locals. Individuals and vehicles are seen covered with dark gray ash and volcanic matter.

'Ash rain' is considered to be a major element in the overall situation.

Although, there was another eruption back last February, about 3 or 4 months ago.

Unexpected surges from the volcano claimed differenet lives in different ways.

State of public calamity declared in the departments of, Escuintla, Chimaltenango, and Sacatepéquez.

The fatality and injury count might be subject to change as the timeline shifts.

Recuperation efforts underway.

It may be highly advisable, not to take the event as one to be a spectator, rather to either help those in need, or stay out of harms way. Multiple forces are in the dynamics in this powerful eruption.
