Elayne wanted to capture in glass as much as she could the mystical rose watercolor that was channeled in 1965 in Allentown PA. At the class she attended with Georgiann Zaglakas, she selected a rose drawing from which she cut her stained glass pieces.
Although Elayne did not write down the exact names of the glass, these are the colors and types she used:
Textured light blue glass for the outline
Clear frosted glass inside the oval surrounding the roses
Deep red glass for the two roses
Medium green glass for the stems
This piece is 8" wide by 17" tall and contains two red roses - one more fully opened and the other a bud. The blue is very mystical and similar to the background color in Elayne's channeled watercolor. The clear glass makes the roses stand out and almost feel as if they are floating in air.
It is easier to see in this close up photo that the clear glass has a frosted look in the oval surrounding the rose and the blue glass has some type of different texture.
