This WEB site follows Philip's motorbike trip from Gauteng, South Africa, along the coast to Cape Town, up through Namibia, Zambia and Botswana and back to Gauteng.
The route and the duration I spend at each stop-over is not fixed as this will be influenced by the advice from people I meet, the weather and the need to catch-up with laundry.
Each destination is selected on whether it has camping facilities as the plan is to camp as much as possible.
While I will be travelling solo, I welcome fellow adventure riders to contact me at philipj.elliott@gmail.com to join me on any part of the journey.

My reason for this adventure is:
Travel is the greatest temporary escape from the burdens of life.
The horizon pulls you along while you gather memories of the roads travelled.
The wind blows away the cobwebs and stress and allows the mind to wonder and imagine the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
