Trip Summary:
I travelled via Wellington, Darling and Langebaan to Paternoster to enjoy the beautiful countryside.
I stopped for breakfast at Evita's Museum and Coffee shop in Darling. This is an interesting place to stop as it provides and intersting reflection of South Africa History from Evita Bezuidenhout's perspective. A guy walked in after driving up from Cape Town on his R1200 GS. We shared some good experiences before I had to leave.
I drove through the West Coast National Park to Langebaan where I stopped at Driftwood Cafe overlooking the beach for lunch as I was not sure what Paternoster had to offer for restaurants. As I drove out from Langebaan, I passed the Strandloper beach restuarant - I wish I had stopped here instead as it offers a more unique experience.
I drove through Paternoster. I was sorry I had eaten in Langebaan. Paternoster has many restaurant options with lovely views. This is a very pretty town with a lovely beach and unique "cottagey" buildings. Tietiesbaai is about 3 km South of Paternoster. I selected the same camp site Lyne and I used in 2012. There is no mobile reception at Tietiesbaai, unless you climb to a high point. I walked about 300m South, before I could pick up Vodacom. At 17h00 the mist rolled in with the South West wind and the temperature dropped to 10C. At 17h40, the mist receded to the horizon. I expect the mist to settle in during the night and make everything wet, inside and outside.

Accommodation: Camping
Camp sites are basic with no electricity and a water tap to share. The ablutions are fine and includes hot water. The fact you camp on the beach makes it special. As it is a Nature Reserve, the only security is at the entrance gate. I felt safe considering I was the only camper in sight as everyone had returned home after the long weekend.
Refer to Vertical Horizon You Tube video for details of this lovely camp site.
