"Set." Geb tapped with the edge of a red chip against the surface of the round table that had the honor this evening of being turned into a poker table. He looked across the table at his younger brother who was happily snuggling with his blond boyfriend. "Go, get the door."
"Why me?" Set whined and sank deeper into Lucas's arms. "Let El go, she's a girl, she's for that sort of thing."
"Hey, wifey." Elsi, Geb and Set's cousin, narrowed her eyes at Set. "Don't be such a sexist and go get the door."
"I'm not wifey. I'm the main man in the relationship." Set stuck out his lower lip and turned his face up, his eyes on Lucas. "Tell them. I'm the man and you are my bitch."
"You are the man and I'm your bitch. Now be a good boy and get the door, hon." Lucas pushed Set out from his lap.
"Why me?" Set crossed his arms and refused to budge from Lucas' chair.
"Because you are the only one not playing." Lucas patted Set's hip.
"Ok, then. But don't let this become a habit." Set unglued himself from Lucas' side and went toward the door where someone was quite annoyingly using the ring button.
"Stop grinning, Chris." Lucas narrowed his eyes at the redhead that was sitting on his left , then looked at cards that he held in his hand, he tossed a blue chip worth 50 pence. "I raise."
"And you El, wipe that drool from your face." Geb leaned over the table and put the red chip, worth a pound, on the pile of chips.
"But they are so cute." Elsi turned toward Lucas. "I could just stare at you two all day long."
"Get a life." Set appeared in the room, Michael, Gabriel and a brunette behind him.
"Uh, a new guy." Elsi stretched her neck, to see the brunette better. "He's a manly cutie." She looked at Michel. "And don't tell me, he's gay."
Geb stared at the brunette, he felt his heart speed up. Robin. What was Robin doing here? Not that he minded, it was just strange to see him in his apartment. "Sorry, El, but I believe he is."
"Damn. Why are there so many gays around me?" Elsi pouted.
"Because you are hanging out with your gay cousins and their gay friends. Duh." Set hopped onto Lucas' lap and made himself comfortable.
Michael and Gabriel were already at the table, while Robin stood by the door with a shy smile on his face.
"We'd better find another chair for you." Geb looked at Set, but judging by the way Set snuggled close to Lucas and the way Michael and Gebriel made themselves comfortable, he couldn't expect any help there. It seemed that he would have to get that chair himself. He put his cards face down on the table and warned that if anybody peeked at them, he would know.
He stood up and went toward the door. He passed by Robin, the back of his hand grazed Robin's hip and he could have sworn that electricity buzzed lightly up his arm. Again.
He ignored it as best he could and went through the hallway toward his study where he had a few folding chairs stored. When he had been transforming his dining room into a playground for poker, he had taken into account that Set would use Lucas as a chair, but he hadn't counted on the fact that Michael and Gabriel might bring somebody over.
"When they invited me for poker night, I didn't know I was going to end up at your place."
"Yeah?" Geb turned and Robin was there, almost bumping into him. Deja vu.
"Yeah." Robin stepped back to put some distance between them. He put his hands in the pockets of his washed-out baggy jeans.
"And what would you have done if you'd known?" Geb turned his back to Robin and opened the door of his study. He didn't bother with turning on the light, but went behind the door and took one of the two chairs that were stored beside the drawing board.
"Ermm." Robin frowned. "I don't know."
"Is that all you wanted to say?" Geb was now in the semi-darkened hallway; he closed the study's door and pushed the chair into Robin's hands.
"I wanted to let you know that I'm not used to appearing into people's homes unannounced and uninvited. It's Gabriel's fault. He insisted that I join them. I don't want you to think that I… I mean, I don't want you to give you false hope… " Robin looked down, his brows furrowed and his brown bangs falling over his forehead. "You are always…."
"I'm always what?" Geb stepped closer.
Robin's hands grasped chair's edge tighter. "You are always flirting with me. And I don't want you to think…."
"You mean flirting, as in doing things like this?" Geb reached out and slid his palm over Robin's shoulder.
Robin shivered. He looked at Geb, his eyes narrowing "Stop doing that."
"What am I doing?" Geb tried to read Robin's face in the light that was coming from the living room, his hand gently stroking Robin's upper arm. There was something going on behind that frown and considering that Robin hadn't pushed him away, that something was in his favor.
"You are getting into my personal space."
"Excuse me." Or maybe not in his favor. Geb rolled his eyes and sidestepped Robin. Robin was really hot, sexy man, but it seemed that he was sensitive as a virgin, stuck-up teenage girl and just as fickle too. He couldn't even make a proper move on the man, he was always on his toes. Too bad. Not that that stopped him from checking out the man's ass as he passed him. That was some nice ass. And at least this time Robin hadn't kicked him. Just a minute… Robin hadn't kicked him and he hadn't really sounded too determined. Maybe…
He reached out, grabbed Robin's shoulder and turned him around. He had never been known as a man who would pass up the opportunity when it presented itself.
"What?"
Geb pushed Robin into a wall and cornered him with his body.
"What do you think you are doing?" Robin's voice was surprisingly calm, his eyes watchful and cautious. "I don't want to hurt you like the last time, so just stop it."
Geb curved the corner of his lips. "Are you sure?" With his palm he slid over Robin's shoulder, down his arm and hooked it on Robin's hip. And when Robin didn't resist, he leaned closer, their noses touched, the tension so thick that he could cut it with a knife. "You don't sound really convincing."
When Robin stayed silent, Geb closed the gap between them and pressed his lips against Robin's. He wiggled his way into Robin's mouth, tasted him, explored him and then Robin's tongue pushed against his and suddenly everything became more intense. He tried to nudge his knee between Robin's legs, but that damn chair was in the way and its edge was chafing him. Damn. He couldn't even properly molest the man. With a small peck he ended the kiss, his chest moving in rapid successions.
Robin's brown eyes blinked at Geb. Another blink and then he hooked his hand around Geb's neck and pulled him into another kiss.
Geb almost moaned into the kiss. He yanked the chair from Robin's hold and even before he had tossed it aside, his knee was between Robin's legs and their torsos glued together. The warmth that had been in the pit of his stomach since he had grazed Robin's skin with his hand bloomed into a hot fire that spread and spread, threatened to burn everything before him. He was ready to have his way with Robin right then and there.
"Geb! What are you doing? Giving birth to that chair or what?" Set's voice intruded into their make-out session.
Geb ended the kiss and with labored breath leaned with his forehead on Robin's, his hands still on Robin's hip and back.
"Don't think… don't think," Robin breathed out, his fingers slowly withdrawing from Geb's hair, "that I came here because I like you."
"I would never think that." Geb's gaze hardened, but his lips curved up in a smirk. He stepped back, his gaze found the chair leaning against the wall.
"Because I don't." Robin straightened his black-and-white striped T-shirt. "I don't want to have anything with you."
"Of course you don't." Geb picked up the chair and went toward the living room. Too bad for Robin that his actions and his body had only a second ago been telling another story. His smirk grew.
"I know your kind." Robin put his hands in his pockets and followed Geb.
"My kind?" Geb slowed his step, he turned. "What is my kind?"
"The promiscuous kind." Robin crossed his arms. "I don't intend to be one of your boy-toys."
"Who said anything about you being my boy-toy?"
"You want to fuck me, don't you?" And when Geb, with a small tilt of his head, indicated that Robin was correct, Robin continued. "Do you want to date me too?"
Geb frowned. He didn't date, Robin knew that, so why was he asking him that?
"I thought so." Robin tilted his head. "I can't deny that I'm attracted to you." His gaze travelled up and down Geb's body. "But I don't intend to involve myself in something that leads nowhere. Have been there, done that and I promised myself never again." He gave Geb a last appraisal before he passed him on his way toward the living room.
That sounded so final and if Geb's ego had been any smaller, he would have lowered his head in defeat, but such as it was, he focused on, "I can't deny that I'm attracted to you," determined to work from that.
