With a desire for a more functional kitchen space that connects with the outdoors, the homeowners knew Nip Tuck Remodeling was the right team for their unique remodel.

The homeowners wanted to expand the opening from their kitchen to their patio with a folding window and door solution, requiring a lot of collaboration for framing, installation, waterproofing, and fit and finish planning. To complicate the process, the door and window assembly were on backorder causing a month’s delay.

To create a cohesive, flowing design when the windows and doors are open, they chose a natural stone countertop for the exterior countertop to complement the quartz countertop in the kitchen.

The team then replaced the small island with a larger one to create a central eating space larger enough to seat the entire family while also functioning as a work and prep space while cooking. To further enhance the flow and function of the space, they removed the large pantry and replaced it with cabinets with roll-outs.

Accents of walnut add a rich depth, creating focal points on the island, wine rack and glass cabinetry, while the custom herringbone-patterned backsplash highlights modern and traditional designs, tying the home together.

In the end, this design was exactly what the homeowners wanted. The modern design now has abundant natural light and connects with their outdoor living space, without forgetting the importance of the more traditional styles of their home.
