Ronda Lane, Project Designer

Before the design could even begin on this kitchen makeover, the Tenhulzen team had to complete the demolition to see what the existing walls and soffits contained. After discovering the soffits were necessary, the new design included a more efficient layout for entertaining and eating.

A new location for the recessed refrigerator, a deep under-mount sink with a pull-down sprayer faucet and a full-size dishwasher allows for a functional area with ample food and beverage storage. They selected glass subway tile at the sink and refrigerator wall backsplash to visually support the stunning glass and metal mosaic tile behind the floating shelves.

The corner cabinet boasts glass doors and shelves with interior lighting to highlight drinkware and specialty liquor bottles. Floating shelves with recessed lighting allow for easy access to stemware and wine, while also highlighting the mosaic tile wall. Then they installed porcelain tile with a bleached barn wood appearance to complement the cabinetry and wall tiles. The custom-designed table and seating area finish the space and match the perimeter countertops.
