This master bathroom was ‘Street of Dreams’ quality in the late ‘80s, but 30 years later, it was showing its age. Despite vaulted ceilings and a large window over the Jacuzzi tub, the layout made for a dark shower and hallway of closets. The best solution was to reconfigure interior walls and redesign the entire space to better reflect current lifestyles and aesthetics.

Reflective vertical surfaces visually expand the usable area and provide dual usage of linen closet space. Double vanities and custom cabinetry offer ample storage and create a grounding contrast to the large glass shower and window on the opposite wall.

A glass panel visually separates the two vanities. Large mirrors provide views of the extensive tile details in the shower and highlight the mercury glass pendant lighting. The luxurious oversized shower includes two recessed niches, a 4’ x 5’ tile accent and a full-width natural stone-topped bench.

A ceiling-mounted rain shower, a handheld shower and a wall-mounted showerhead add to the spa-like feel. The existing west-facing window provides abundant natural light. Then four separate lighting zones, all equipped with dimmers, allow for a variety of lighting options throughout the space.

The team replaced the unnecessary powder room with a large dressing room, anchored by two, glass-front towers on either side of the existing window. To complete the master suite oasis, they transformed the office into a lofty and light walk-in closet, including long-hanging perimeter storage, drawers and custom shoe shelving at the south-facing windows.
