This exceptionally preserved 1920s home was ready to be brought up to modern standards. Preserving its historical charm, Sockeye Construction kept unique features like the caming on the glass panels that anchor the new fireplace and the black Dekton surround in the sitting area.

In the kitchen, they added professional-grade appliances, a large central island and additional storage. Above the sink, they installed a new larger window with casing, header and full wrap to match the existing windows. They then chose classic shaker gray cabinetry and gray and white quartz countertops (reminiscent of the old-world marble but without the maintenance). They added gold fixtures and hardware to reflect current trends while honoring the styles of the past.

In the entertainment area, the team added new built-ins and crown molding to blend in with the rest of the home. They updated the existing powder room with more current floor tile and a new vanity while giving the existing wainscoting a fresh coat of paint. Throughout the entire space, the team refinished the hardwood floors in a light English walnut color. The homeowners love how their new modern amenities seamlessly tie into the classic historical charm of their 1920s home.
