Grant - Lush Review

Grant is back with a new Monstercat single! The San Diego-based Producer and DJ has dropped a new song titled "Lush" and I'm very excited that I get to write about it! This is Grant's second song of the year (the first being a collaboration with Blanke), and although it came out only yesterday, it has already received a lot of praise! Unlike many other Monstercat reviews I've done, Grant is not a new name on the Monstercat label, as he's been making music with them since 2014! 

For Grant's 20th single with Monstercat, "Lush" is a drum and bass track that was put under the Uncaged brand. While it's not necessarily a heavy track, it still has the typical styles of a drum and bass track, such as the drum beat and fast-paced melodies! I think "Lush" is such a good title for this track because it's very dreamy sounding! The synths and keyboards really prove that with the happy vibe they give off. After the first drop, things slow down for a second, with just the lyrics being sang, but the second drop comes in even heavier than the first! I like the second drop the most because of how much heavier it is! The songs ends in an odd way, with it basically turning into an 80s funk song. Even though the ending is significantly different than the rest of the song, it still works really well! This whole track is quite a journey to say the least!

I really enjoyed this one! The beat, the happy melody, the dreamy aspect were all great! I hope we hear more like this from Grant in the near future, this was really cool! I'm gonna give this track a rating of 4.4/5! It's a happy song, and I think the world needs more happy music than anything else! This song also proves that Monstercat is one of the best EDM labels out there! They almost always have something great out! Hopefully soon I will be able to do more Monstercat reviews in the future! - Elliott Dudoit
