Based on our problem statement, our design specifications, and the creation of the prototype, we developed the criteria that we wanted to test and the procedures to test them. It was an interesting change from a typical class, where the testing procedure is already defined for you. We wanted to make sure that our tests were relevant to our product and that they would help us collect important data to move forward with our improvements.
Problem Statement
Many people don’t get the water they should, often because they are uneducated about how much they should drink or forget to drink. According to a survey sent to students and teachers at a school in 2022, about half of the people drink less than half a gallon. Additionally, research shows that 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated, and factors such as thirst, the temperature of water, the convenience of drinking it, and other psychological, behavioral, and environmental influences impact how much water people drink.
