To choose the design that we would continue with, we used a structured selection method that can provide a more objective analysis of options, solid justification for the final selection, and often produce a better result than just voting. We took the ideas from our concept development and created a decision matrix. It is commonly used in a structured selection process to objectively compare alternative concepts. The design specifications and customer needs are used as the basis of comparison to rate and rank each alternative concept. Based on the results of the decision matrix analysis, we further developed our top 2 ideas in order to choose from those. We used Excel and Google Sheets to compile all of the data in one place.Â
