Magic was first given to the elves of Amia by Deganna, but such powerful knowledge could only stay in the hands of the few for so long. In the millenia since, many magical orders of wizards, sorcerers, warlocks, mages, and other spell-slinging folk have sprung up in various nations. Most of them seek to protect those around them, but power can corrupt even the sharpest minds.
Degannar: Founded by Deganna and now located in Shana. Almost entirely made up of high elves. Includes Wizards and Artificers. The Degannar act as the chief protectors of the island nation. The Wizarding branch of the Degannar are knowledge collectors, dedicated to preserving histories, species of life, and unique artifacts. The Artificer branch of the Degannar are obsessed with invention; creating tools and machines that can better protect and improve the lives of the Shana populace.
Circle of Beloborum: Founded by Indismar Beloborum and located in Arshore. The magical hand of the Kingdom of Lashira. They are dedicated to preserving the light of the Blinding Bay. They prevent people from trespassing on Lightguard Isle. Some members are currently serving on the front lines of the Sap War.
Hundred Rings Guild: Founded by Thadius Kalioban in 120 A4 and located in the Shandi Peninsula. Thadius forged 100 magic rings in order to create a force powerful enough to protect Shandus from supernatural threats. 10 of the rings had power over the other 90. The holders of the 10 rings could see through the eyes of one of the 90 and summon a ring back to Kaliospire at will, keeping a tight leash on their members actions. As members leave, die, or are banished, the guild holds tryouts for new members. Thadius Kalioban has not been seen since 277 A4, nor has his ring. The Remaining Upper 9, as they are known, use a telepathic voting system to govern the guild.
Chromannar: Founded by the high elf sorcerer named Lorvik Tabarin. He once wielded the seven primal colors, which are sacred stones that each exude a potent magical energy of a different color. Lorvik was involved in the incident that created the Shadowscar in the 2nd Age. After that calamity, he decided that the primal colors were too powerful to be wielded together, and that they must be separated and protected. He founded the Chromannar to fulfil that goal, and seven temple fortresses were constructed throughout the world to hold each of the artifacts. Sorcerers at the mountaintop prism-fortress of Chromakeep continue to train in the seven ways of the Chromannar, sometimes making pilgrimage to one of the temples to meditate or perhaps imbue something with the primal color.
Leodran Ospreys: Founded by Jorel the Osprey, a wizard captain whose command of magic led the Leodran fleets to many victories during the Leodran Colony Rebellions in the third age. They gave Jorel the resources to start his own academy and train future wizard sailors to serve the empire.
Magi Hunters Guild: Founded by Horus Ravalli, known as the Exile. The guild is based in New Habira and specialize in the collection of bounties on wizards, sorcerers, and other slippery magic users. Due to the danger of hunting such individuals, the bounties are worth thousands of gold, which keeps the guild in a comfortable financial position. Though they are required to go through official channels when selecting bounties, it is not unheard of guild members to secretly take on private contracts as well.
Illisai'Shan: Founded by a group of Illisari wood elves who studied at Shana in the 2nd Age. They specialize in teleportation and illusion magics. The illusion magic aids them in protecting their forest home, as well as their Yuosi allies. They use teleportation magic to forcefully remove intruders on their lands. They also use it to facilitate ambassadorial trips to other nations for themselves and the Yuosi government.
Councili of Thirty-Seven: Founded by the Kalioban government for the protection of the Kingdom. Their primary enemies are the Rhavian dragonborn in the north, the Pelopi Pirate Kingdoms to the west, and the Elves of Tavir to the east. The council frequently changes and loses members, due to clashing viewpoints with the Kalioban leadership. Currently there are only 29 that sit on the council.
Gonai Flamethrowers: Founded by Torvu the Charred in the 3rd Age when Isan was once again attacked by demonic forces. The sorcerers use fire, destruction, and disintegration magics to protect the first city of Humans from any and all threats.
The Overseers: The Overseers are five extremely powerful wizards that agreed long ago to protect the world from threat of annihilation, Though in modern times, they have withdrawn to their towers to bury themselves in books, practice their magical arts, and pursue their wild hobbies and fixations.
Volum, The Ruby Wizard: He is rumored to have lost his mind. In the last decade, He has been sighted all over the world. Each time he appears, it looks as though he is searching for something, while muttering to himself in a language no one understands. he pays no mind to the people around him and never stays for more that a few minutes before teleporting away. Any attempts to make physical contact with him were denied by some sort of barrier. Volum's tower is equipped with a ward that interferes with the influence of the King of Diam, preventing undead from being telepathically commanded in a 50 mile radius.
Shala, The Sapphire Wizard: She saved the human tribes of the Zakkari forest from annihilation when a nightmarish beast arose from the Sea and marched ashore. She was thereafter worshiped as a Goddess by the less advanced society. She seeks a way to enter Khadron and discover the hidden knowledge inside.
Talfannar, the Emerald Wizard: Talfannar has waged defensive war against nature ever since he erected a tower in Jaragir. The animals, plants, and land itself fights to remove the wizard from it's domain. He refuses to leave, as his mission is to acquire Ja'ate's divinity stone, which is thought to be protected by one of the Ancients of Jaragir.
Maraxi, the Topaz Wizard: Maraxi's tower is always surrounded by blue dragons. The wizard himself has not been seen since the last Sharvossi War, when he disintegrated a regiment of Rhavian sorcerers that foolishly attempted to force their way into his tower. Constructs are often seen travelling between his tower and the Valley of the Scale. They seem to be gathering ingredients for an unknown application.
Lotharion, the Amythest Wizard: After saving the region of Faris from the dark forces of Gorbanon, Lotharion developed a god-complex. He watches over the halfings of Cheddar like they were his children. His presence prevents the Pelopi pirate guilds from advancing too far inland and most black dragons are too afraid of him to venture that far east. Lotharion was not fond of the prideful elves of Bok'Ti, and did not lift a finger when the Pelopi Marauders burnt it to the ground.
