Jonos was destroyed in the year 900 of the 4th Age. The cause of its destruction is not known by most creatures. Jonos was previously the capitol of the Jonossi Empire, which claimed all lands in the region of Arteria. Following the city's destruction, the lands west of the Emerald Mountains reclaimed their independence as the Holy Kingdom of Lashira. The lands east of the mountains banded together to form the Jonossi Confederacy. Some refugees founded a town called New Jonos within Ro's Forest.
