The Gilded Gulf
New Habira is the heart of civilization in the guilded gulf and the trade center of the world. Over a thousand ships come in and out of this port city every day bringing goods from all over the world to be sold at the Habiran markets and loading their holds with spices that turn a very nice profit. The Spicelords control and tax all trade in the city. They have a stranglehold on all the towns in the Habiran plains and employ slave labor in their harbors and out in the fields. The Citizens of New Habira are well versed in the language of business. A great number of residents are Merchants, Traders, Loaners, Accountants, Collectors, and Investors. Every trade and profession is taxed. There is little housing for the lower class. Poor individuals that pass through New Habira are usually delivering goods to, or spices from the surrounding villages.
