The Fallen Kingdom
The city of Diamas lies at the ruined epicenter of the once great Kingdom of Diam. In 2136 A3, King Tharken Dallo made a pact with a dark god. He pledged his servitude in exchange for eternal life for himself and his subjects. The god granted his wish and instantly struck down the population of Diam, raising them from the dead to serve for eternity. This event coincided with the end of the Third Age.
The Valley of False Lords makes up the largest portion of the Dead Kingdom. Most towns here fell to ruin after the tragedy. The once-blessed Lake Lorian is now full of corpses and nightmarish creatures. The graves of Diaman heroes and kings used to be places of serenity and reverence, but they too were brought back from death. They now rule their tombs as lords with garrisons of the soldiers who once served them in life.
St. Aaron's Cathedral is the ruined remains of what was once a spiritual center for the Adherents of Arteron. The three-wing cathedral now houses frightful abominations, as well as the bishop that first put King Dallo in communication with the dark god.
The town of Frostberry sits on the Pelian River. It is the only inhabited place within the Dead Kingdom, having been repopulated in 826 A4. The mayor, Roger Dallo, is the descendent of a distant cousin to King Tharken Dallo. He refuses the title of king and seeks only to protect his people and help them reclaim their motherland. Frostberry is only able to exist within the Dead Kingdom due to the magical wards that surround it; similar to those used at the Bonewall.
