The Dawnlands
The Yuosi Dynasty and Kingdom of Illisai are located in the Forest of Eternal Morning in southern Ciel. Yuos is the second oldest human city in the world. The elves of Illisai permitted the human's settlement under condition that they never disturb or take from the forest. Those that break this pact are banished to Naliote island in Lagir. For the first hundred years of Yuos' history, the Illisari elves bestowed them with gifts of food, wood, and other supplies. The Yuosi now provide for themselves using the land available. They trade with Illisai regularly, but they do not have a military alliance. The Great Crane of Yuos ferrys hundreds up ships up and down the 300ft Tanari Waterfall every day, facilitating trade with Leodra and the rest of the world. The crane operators are prestigious laborers, spoken of throughout the nation.
The Leodran Empire controls the northern half of this region. Leodra was founded in 206 A3 by Yuosi migrants who did not want to live under the pact with elves. The city-state grew to become the largest empire in the world with colonies across the seas. Leodra leads the world in science and industry. Their engineers and metalsmiths rival those of the Gnomish cities. It boasts the largest Navy of any nation, and a sizable army. It shares a Defensive alliance with its neighbor, Lagir. The Tower of Akira sits at the center of the imperial palace of Leodra. It is home to the Emperor and their family, as well as the Imperial guard and the Leodran Osprey wizards.
The Grand Wall of Leodra runs from the Darshi Range to the Glinting Mountains, about 120 miles. It stands 60 ft tall and has three fortresses. It was constructed late in the Third Age to keep out the marauders of Dal, but was also used to great effect in the wars with Stradov, Diam, and Old Habira.
The Link is a bridge that connects the empires of Leodra and Geirdin. Construction completed in 322 A4; Five years after a military and economic alliance was forged between the two empires.
Briarfen is a near-impenetrable jungle on the western coast of Ciel. The massive vines are said to have sprung from the severed hand of the Goddess Ja'ate. Briarfen is home to a tribe of vine surfing wood elves
