The Sacred Grounds
These sites are considered sacred by many religions. At each place, the border between Dissa and the associated outer plane is weaker than in other parts of the world, making it much easier to commune with someone in that plane, or perhaps walk between planes.
Artereon's Summit: Located at the top of Mt. Dobarri, It is said that this is where Artereon summoned the Titans from his home of Celestia.
Cila's Temple: Constructed by early Yuosi humans over the grove where Cila was said to have meditated for 10 years in order to bring the sun closer to Dissa.
Ja'ate's Hand: The legends say that when Trast severed Ja'ate's left hand, it fell to the ground and enormous vines sprung forth. Thousands of years later, these vines continue to grow, creating the jungle known as Briarfen.
Deganna's Library: High elves pass down a story in which Deganna constructed this immense hall with their ancient ancestors. Here, she gave them knowledge of the world, taught them to use magic, and tasked them with preserving knowledge using books.
Diss' Tower: A stone statue of Diss sitting a throne is located within this tower.
Nortuga's Reef: The reef itself is beautiful, but the passageways inside lead too deep for normal exploration. It is thought that Nortuga once ruled the ocean from beneath this spot.
Trast's Fortress: In the legend of the War of the Gods, it was within this fiery lair that Trast summoned forth devils from the Nine Hells and commanded his armies as they tore across Dissa.
Raxxis' Tomb: This site, located under the ice of the Dead Coast, is a labyrinth that supposedly contains the corpse of Raxxis, lord of the Grey Wastes.
Pagaria's Temple: Located on one of the pillars of Skovin, little is known about this accursed place. Any who enter the grand hall are immediately driven mad by visions and voices of the demons of the abyss. Few ever recover from this blight; their mind seared with the chaotic will of Pagaria.
Shrines of the Wind
There are those who worship the wind as others worship the gods. In the second age, wind-worshipping giants constructed four simple shrines; one for each of the four winds. It is said that a creature who pays tribute at each shrine may have a wish granted.
Northern Shrine: Located on the north coast of Arteria, by the Midic Sea
Southern Shrine: Located on the frozen Cliffs of Nyr, south of Faris, beyond the Tained Bay
Eastern Shrine: Located on the east coast of Arteria, along the Tortum Strand.
Western Shrine: Located on the west coast of the Island of Abago.
The Elemental Portals
Is the Age of Divinity, it is said that Diss summoned the 8 gods of the outer planes to help him save Dissa from extinction at the hands of the elemental armies. The gods fought against these invaders for countless years before finally driving them back to the corners of the world. It is here that the rifts to the elemental planes were found, but they could not be repaired. Instead, the gods erected immense structures that focused the rift through an aperture that could be sealed and locked. These ports can be used to traverse between the material and elemental planes, but the knowledge to do so is kept secret by the high elves of Shana.
Port Caeli: Portal to the elemental plane of Wind. Located on Dega'is. Guarded by the Degannar.
Port Aqua: Portal to the elemental plane of Water. Buried under the waves of the Midic Sea.
Port Terra: Portal to the elemental plane of Earth. Located in the Sterling Mountains of Nortuvia.
Port Ignas: Portal to the elemental plane of Fire. Located at the Wrathkiln in Skovin.
Other Sites of Divine Significance
Lightguard Isle: The light emitted by the object of the Lightguard Colossus is said to be a divine artifact sent by Artereon. It's radiant effects seem to repel undead creatures in a radius of hundreds of miles.
Old Amia: Buried beneath the Suntouched Sea are the remains of the tree that Ja'ate planted in the Age of Divinity. It is here that most creatures of the world were born.
The Shadow Scar: This wound on the world, located in Nortuvia, was created during a battle between Demons and Devils. It is believed that a relic of divine power was used to banish both forces into the Grey Wastes, but the wastes left an irrepairable mark on the world.
The Houses of Color: Each shrine contains one of the primal colors, which hold divine power.
The Provinces of the Ancients: The Ancients of Jaragir are native to the plane of Arborea and have existed since the Age of Divinity.
The Leodric Abyss: In the legend of the War of the Gods, Pagaria tore a rift open at the bottom of the sea to let loose her horde of demons from the plane of The Abyss. In the present age, the giant mechanism called Aquanni works to keep the rift sealed.
