I have decided to upload many of my point control bell cranks and rod supports to my My Thingiverse Profile so you to can enjoy the fun I have had with making my model railway point / turn-out / switch control.
There are three different serts of models:
Cranks
Standoffs
Levers
Cranks are used to change the direction of rod travel from one direction across the baseboard to another.
The cranks are disigned to use Tamiya 4mm x 10mm step screws for the pivot.

Standoffs hold the rods you use to control the points. Mine are designed for 1mm diameter or 1.5mm diameter piano wire to pass through.

The levers are very basic point levers. they require 2mm rod to complete. 20mm for the handle, and a length for the pivot. I use brass wire as it is easy to bend and cut.

There is much more to my system than just the STL models to enable thse to be 3D printed. There is also a kit of other off the shelf parts which are needed.
Piano Wire
Tamiya 4x10mm Step Screws
M4 Threaded Inserts
Silicon tube (rod end caps)
These are the screws I use for the pivots. The reason I chose these is because they have a large 5mm diameter shank, and an M4 screw thread. I use these in conjunction with M4 threaded inserts into the baseboard.
I use these to provide a reusable threaded hole for the Tamiya 4x10mm step screws to wind into.
