I have developed some 3d resin-printed tramway sleepers for OO Gauge / OO Gauge.
I intend to sell these in the following kits, either via the contact page on this website, or via my ebay (user: duane-dibley). The kits will be as follows:
Single Track Level Crossing Kit (3 sleepers)
Double Track Level Crossing Kit (6 Sleepers)
Small Tramway Kit (10 sleepers)
Other size kits can be made to order.
The kit consists of 3D resin printed sleepers which have four grooves to accept four code 100 Peco rails. the outer two are set at OO gauge and the inner two are for guard rails / check rails.
You will need four lengths of Peco Code 100 track. Two short lengths for the inner check rails, and two lengths for the main rails.
You will also need a needle file or similar to clean the ends of the rails up.
Depending upon how you wish to fix the sleepers down you may need a small drill and a pin vice.
Below are the steps required to use the sleepers
the ends of the track need to be clear of burs and sharp edges. It is suggested that a flat needle file is used to dress the edges with a small chamfer.
Clear the track grooves in each sleeper carefully using one of the pieces of track. Resin from the manufacturing process may remain in the grove. Do not force the groove as the divider between the pairs of rails can snap rendering the sleeper useless.
Care must be taken to not force the rails through the grooves or the dividing web can be broken, and that will render the whole sleeper useless.
Carefully slide the two check rails into the inner grooves, taking care not to break the dividing webs.
Carefully slide the two main rails into the outer grooves, taking care not to break the dividing webs
If you fix your track with track pins then drill out the centre hole to take a track pin, or if you use fish glue, or double sided tape, then use that to fix the track to your baseboard.
Build the road using your preferred road material. I use cheap wall filler, but you may prefer slater plasticard cobbles, or cardboard.
Ensure the Flange ways are clear for your wagon with the deepest flanges. for me this is normally a Wren wagon or Lima wagon.
