Five Tasty Sources Of Protein You Can Feel GOOD About Eating

I’m here to talk with you about protein. As you probably already know, protein is key to getting the results you desire from your fat loss program.

Protein not only helps you reduce your overall hunger level, but it’s also important for keeping your metabolic rate up and for preserving lean muscle mass tissue. All great things in the name of fat loss.

But if you happen to think that the only delicious sources of protein available are burgers or a thick, juicy slab of steak, you may be feeling pretty disheartened about being on a diet and having your protein intake increased.

Good news. There are so many delicious protein options and ways to serve protein that you should never become bored.

Here are my five favorites:

Greek Yogurt Parfait

If you love ice cream, this is one for you. The creamy taste of Greek yogurt is sure to satisfy your cravings and help you meet your protein needs for the day.

Simply mix half a cup of low-fat, plain Greek yogurt with some fresh berries and some slivered almonds. This is a balanced meal, so you’ll not only get protein but also carbohydrates and dietary fats as well.

Cocktail Shrimp

Shrimp is a fantastic source of protein because it’s 100% pure protein so you won’t take in any carbs or fats. Perfect for those looking to get lean.

Serve some pre-cooked but chilled shrimp with a little cocktail sauce. Cocktail sauce will contain some sugar so you don’t want to go overboard with it, but at the same time, it can really liven up the taste of the shrimp and make it more palatable.

Grilled Salmon

Grilled salmon is next on the menu. Salmon is perfect for those who are hoping to see fat-loss results because while it is higher in calories, it provides a great dose of omega-3 fatty acids.

These fatty acids are important for lowering inflammation, improving insulin sensitivity, and decreasing your risk for gaining body fat.

Grilled salmon also contains a very high-quality protein source, so it’s a perfect way for building lean muscle mass tissue.

Protein Pancakes

If you are a lover of all things pancake, this will probably be your favorite way to get your protein in. You can make delicious pancakes out of nothing more than protein powder, some oats, and an egg. Or for added sweetness, try adding half of a banana. This will add more carbs though, so just keep that in mind.

There are a multitude of different protein pancake recipes out there to choose from, so find one that looks interesting to you and get cooking. Most will only take a few minutes to prepare each day.

Chicken Skewers

Finally, consider trying chicken skewers. Something about this simply makes the chicken taste better. Slice up some chicken pieces, onions, pineapples, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes. Stab them onto a skewer and then brush with a little olive oil mixed with any flavorings such as balsamic vinegar, orange juice, or even a little honey.

Place on the grill and then grill for a few minutes as you rotate them while they cook.

So, as you can see, there’s really no reason to ever feel bored with your protein intake. With a little motivation to get your needs met, there’s no reason you can’t be eating protein and enjoying every second of it.
