Maou is known for his explosive damage. However the turn away is the work to achieve his “Demon Form”. Versus vanilla you actually needed to get 2 hits to activate Devil and blocking it didn’t matter. He delivers a heavy reward if you utilize him effectively with his Demon attacks. With 5S having a fast startup this can cause opponents to be more on their toes about whiffing anything or power blasting. He is especially scary when the player is in trump mode which allows them to make those assist calls when a gap in a blockstring happens. Demon 6S does a considerable amount of chip and forces the opponent to block all the hits. Getting opened up in the middle of this can lead into a full combo with high damage. Your main goal with him is to get Devil Form as fast as possible!
Demon Form is very rewarding

Maou appears directly in-front of the opponent and fires an enery beam at them. Deals white damage on block and has very fast startup. This can punish whiffed normals, whiffed power blast, pretty much anything. Explosive damage.
Same as 5S but roughly lunges twice as far. Does 100 more damage than 5S.
Maou appears in front of the player and swings his blade causing beams to unleash from the ground. Deals white damage on block. The beams travel across the screen then back to the player.
