Kouko is a fairly balanced assist due to her fast startup with 5S and her pressure with 6S. This gives the player an opportunity to extend combos easily and go for big damage. It’s even possible to do her 5S in a combo without using any meter outside of trump card. Meter gain is small but that small amount of meter can help the player in the end. Most players use 5S over 6S for combos since the cooldown is faster with 5S. 6S oki is strong since you can do a meatie and keep pressure up until she gets close enough and go for a mix-up.

Throws up a bouquet of flowers up followed by a kiss. This will inflict a status effect that drains the opponent’s meter and gives it to the player. She leaves a field of petals afterward. Even if the opponent has no meter the player will still gain meter. On hit, the kiss effect will automatically begin. If it misses a heart will float towards the opponent once it touches them the effect will start and is unblockable. Will only hit the opponent if they are in hitstun or in the air The petal field negates all projectiles for a single hit. Multi-hit projectiles break through this.
Walks from behind the opponent to perform her 5S attack. Has the same properties of normal 5S apply
She appears behind the player and walks towards the opponent. When she gets close enough she will begin smacking them with the bouquet and launch them in the air. Afterward, she will walk towards the direction she came from until she goes off-screen. She does the same kiss effect as 5S. Smacking startup is variable and does not activate until she reaches a set distance between herself and the opponent. Once she begins smacking she cannot be hit out of the animation.
