Debatably the best assist in the game! Iriya offers many things for the player that helps them get closer to victory but only if they utilize her correctly. Setting up bowls is top priority. You want those Status Up buffs and lead into big damage with the third bowl. The safest way to set her up is to do it on hard knockdown. This allows you to have a meaty setup plus if you hit her bowl during otg, as a safe jump or during a blockstring you’re able to mix up right as the plate comes falling. Picking a direction to send the bowl can be chosen depending on the situation. A ver. Can actually be used as an anti-air while B and C are normally used as setups. You can also hit the bowl with Impact skills. In neutral, you can also use it as a bait since NO ONE wants you to get the BIG food benefits and punish them for the attempt. 6S is an amazing tool to punish with or add pressure. It’s especially useful while in trump mode since it also becomes a defensive option. While in trump if you do 6S in the corner, it does open a small gap behind the opponent so it allows you to cross up (and even possible to break cross up protection!). Feel free to use this as a combo extender as well this can help you in a pinch where you need that extra damage!
Gives Status Up
Bowl setups are very good
Potential unblockable setups
Firework combos do BIG damage
5S requires no call animation allowing for various offensive and defensive uses
5S can be hard to protect depending on the character
Without the need of an assist call animation, Iriya nonchalantly appears in front of the player and eats a bowl of food. Once eaten a food icon will appear and up to 3 icons can be stored. The player can hit the bowl to knock it towards the opponent. Hitting it with an A normal will arc it toward the opponent's position. Hitting it with a B or C normal will send it up off the screen, and will drop directly over the opponent's position after a second passes. If the player is hit at any time while the plate is offscreen it will not come down. Once 2 food icons are collected, the player receives Status Up Lv. 1 for 10 seconds. Once 3 food icons are collected, the player receives Status Up Lv. 3 for 20 seconds, and a row of air-unblockable explosions go off. Afterwards the number of food icons will reset to 0. Iriya can be hit by the opponent to deny the food buffs if done early enough in her animation. If too slow, the opponent can at least deny the plate projectile.
Iriya appears behind the opponent and hits them with her scooter, launching the opponent towards the player on hit. This is useful as a full-screen poke against zoners or as a combo extension. However due to the hit effect it can be hard confirming from it from a stray hit. Because Iriya appears from the opposite side of the screen it is also a useful reversal tool while in Trump state.
