They are a group of arachnids, characterized by presenting a compact body united in its total width and without intermediate narrowing, with different shapes, sometimes due to their morphological appearance, some families of this order are commonly confused with spiders. They are considered omnivorous generalist organisms, with a variety of eating habits and a wide range of foods, which is a very notable characteristic among arachnids. They are found in all terrestrial ecosystems (except Antarctica), being diverse in the tropics. Likewise, they commonly occur in a wide variety of habitats, including soil, moss, litter, under rocks, rocks, debris, on vertical surfaces from tree trunks to stone walls, between shrubs, and running over shrubby vegetation.
