About my content creation process (Part 1 of 2)
0:51
um well I guess let me tell you about
0:54
let me tell you about it first um I've
0:56
told you a little bit about it before
0:59
but I've been I've been working really
1:01
hard on it like putting a lot of time
1:03
into it and it's it's really flourishing
1:06
into something cool
1:08
um like I don't have any like friends
1:12
really or people to share my stuff with
1:16
so I'm kind of at the mercy of the
1:19
algorithms like uh the Youtube algorithm
1:23
which is actually kind of a cool thing
1:25
because it it takes a while but if you
1:29
have like niche type content it it does
1:32
help you find your audience like it
1:34
might take a while
1:38
um so I wanted to tell you first about
1:41
my YouTube um channels uh I'm quite a
1:45
prolific content creator um on my main
1:50
uh so I've
1:51
got I've got um well over 30 channels um
1:56
like
1:58
the it's kind of complicated like
2:04
um
2:07
um I guess before become like doing uh
2:10
video creation I was a really prolific
2:13
writer like I have I have
2:16
um like just Stacks and stacks of
2:19
notebooks and and journals and I used to
2:21
make like tons of websites like about
2:24
content like that I would create so it's
2:27
taken me um well only really been doing
2:30
the the youtubing
2:32
for um since I've been on my own I mean
2:35
I started it while I was with Shayla but
2:38
been on my own you know for I've really
2:40
really kicked it into high gear I guess
2:43
um like spring uh last year
2:47
2023 and you know I kept creating more
2:49
and more
2:51
channels um without even having clear
2:54
ideas of what they would become like
2:56
they they they take time to evolve and
2:58
my my thought of having lots of channels
3:01
was you know I could have them all be
3:03
very specialized and special you know
3:06
content for different kinds of channels
3:08
right and and you know establishing
3:12
Channel History and getting in the
3:14
algorithm is it it it it's kind of like
3:17
it's kind of a fun game and it's um and
3:19
you know this it's kind of like the
3:21
lottery or gambling even social media
3:24
because you get you know I get you get
3:26
excited when you get views and comments
3:28
and stuff you know yeah and
3:31
um oh dopamine burst yeah yeah so I
3:34
wanted to tell you about it I guess I
3:37
I'll I'll just share the top couple of
3:39
channels my primary channel is sunset
3:42
guitarist and it's a it's a channel I've
3:46
actually had for 17 years
3:49
now since 2006 and um that's like long
3:53
as YouTube has even been around right I
3:56
know I've been using it I'm really old
3:59
but um um that's my main Channel and I
4:02
pretty much upload most of the content
4:04
to that channel so it it's a bit
4:07
complicated it's got a lot of stuff
4:09
going on um kind of aned Channel yeah
4:12
but then all the other channels are more
4:14
specific so I've got my my other primary
4:17
two channels are science God and and
4:20
that's is my most serious channel that
4:23
is the channel That is mostly
4:25
exclusively about um science and
4:28
philosophy and
4:30
Theology and you know purpose and
4:32
meaning and um astronomy the fmy
4:36
Paradox philosophy right right so so
4:40
that's that's science God uh I like that
4:42
oneÂ
and then Oblivion cocoon is my other
4:46
um like primary that's like where I put
4:49
all my good stuff
fun fact Shayla actually was insulting me one day
and she said that"you live in a cocoon of Oblivion" and
I was like who that's cool and I made um a channel out of itÂ
5:06
where I post you know my my my best
5:08
content and um some of the other top
5:12
channels are Sunset piano which is
5:14
really blooming because I've been
5:15
playing a lot of piano
5:17
lately um and there's a sunset channel
5:20
of just videos of sunsets it sunset is
5:24
really my theme if you've noticed I've
5:26
got a sunset psychology Channel I've got
5:29
um
5:31
um wow I'd have to look at the list
5:33
there's so many it's kind of confusing
5:35
to keep them all you know and I've been
5:37
modifying and working on them so on my
5:39
main Channel Sunset guitar I'm actually
5:41
really proud of this because um I just
5:45
broke over 500
5:47
subscribers which oh cool took a while
5:50
actually I got 20 subscribers just since
5:54
yesterday so it I'm getting better at
5:57
whatever I'm
5:58
doing um
6:01
and you know so that channel has
6:04
um almost 1,500
6:08
vide um talk about excessive right uh
6:12
mostly
6:14
guitar um covers and um and my originals
6:18
and I wanted to talk about my originals
6:20
a little bit so that's really where the
6:22
Oblivion cocoon channel is and so I've
6:24
got two really good videos I've made so
6:29
far like two really good ones
6:32
um and maybe I maybe those if I share
6:36
anything with you maybe I I I would
6:37
share that with with you um yeah the one
6:40
is actually I'm super proud of this song
6:42
I wrote this amazing song like it's like
6:45
really really good like I didn't know I
6:49
could have write original songs U I had
6:51
to learn I practice hundreds of covers
6:54
in order to like you know build musical
6:56
skill and whatnot but I did a uh so it's
6:59
a parody kind of of um Billy jeles We
7:02
Didn't Start the Fire um but in
7:06
2023 so it's captures the H I guess the
7:11
zist that's a good word um the the uh
7:16
the culture um the political culture and
7:20
you know the the cultural fears and just
7:23
the odd times that we're in um if we
7:26
have time I'll even share some of the
7:28
lyrics with you because they're a riot
7:30
it's a great song like it's a really
7:32
freaking good song I'm really proud of
7:34
it and and now like now I can do it I
7:37
can write more songs like I didn't know
7:39
I could be such a good songwriter so I'm
7:41
still kind of waiting for that one to
7:43
get traction cuz you know new songs you
7:45
know sometimes they never they don't
7:47
even become popular while you're alive
7:49
which is sad like it might be like a
7:51
huge hit when I'm when I'm dead I don't
7:54
know um and then the other really cool
7:57
video I'm proud of is I made a parody
8:00
interview video and this is kind of a
8:03
niche subject so you might have no idea
8:06
what I'm talking about but you ever have
8:07
you ever heard of To Catch a Predator
8:09
with Chris Hansen yeah oh yeah yeah all
8:12
right um well have you seen Hansen
8:14
versus Predators it was a one that he
8:16
made in like 2015 it's pretty old now
8:20
it's but um there was this one guy on
8:23
there named Jeff soal and he brought a
8:24
pizza to to meet the uh the child and so
8:30
I I took the video of him interviewing
8:32
Chris Hansen and I edited it and chopped
8:35
it up and it's actually it's funny
8:37
because it took me over two years to
8:38
like conceive the idea and then write
8:41
the script and I actually I wrote most
8:43
of the script while I was in uh doing my
8:46
masters while I was in class I was
8:48
writing the script for this Jeff soal
8:51
interview video because I had to because
8:53
I could only work with whatever answers
8:55
he gave so I had to come up with
8:57
creative questions right and so I I made
9:00
it like he's trying to marry a pizza and
9:02
it it's really quite funny uh I think
9:05
and um yeah who would have known I'm
9:07
actually quite good at comedy as well uh
9:09
the um [ __ ] fire is the name of the song
9:13
the The Billy Joel parody song so the
9:17
[ __ ] fire song is pretty funny too
9:20
and so you know as I develop all the
9:24
channels like the science God Channel as
9:26
I um oh last week I told you I was is
9:29
working on um well the the video about
9:33
the existence of Free Will and I told
9:35
you about Pascal's wager and the week
9:37
before I was telling you about how I was
9:40
doing a video on um chapter 11 of Mark
9:44
Twain's mysterious stranger where um
9:47
Satan is having a conversation with
9:49
young Theodore oh that's a video I'd
9:51
like to share with you oh that it's
9:53
classy it's so
9:56
good I I found somebody else that did a
9:58
narration with some piano music and I
10:01
made the visual and it's just right on
10:04
like like I'm getting so it's taken me
10:06
years to figure out how to do the
10:08
channels how to come up with videos how
10:10
to do editing how to you know do
10:14
channels like they're kind of
10:15
complicated you know the algorithm and
10:18
you know the metadata and the
10:20
descriptions and hashtags
10:23
and oh yeah I mean just the fact that
10:26
you can create the content like writing
10:28
a song playing music singing or writing
10:31
stories or comedy and then like that's a
10:34
whole set of skills in of itself and
10:36
then it's getting it on the internet
10:39
creation it out there I mean that's this
10:42
is all you know really cool hobby that
10:45
yeah I knew that you did some of this
10:46
but I didn't realize how big of a part
10:48
of a life it was for you well I got
10:50
really not much else to do I sit around
10:52
and play guitar and piano all day anyway
10:54
so uh that's why there's so many good
10:57
yeah that's why there's so many guitar
10:59
videos um but I would also mix in um
11:03
cute animal videos of Well my two dogs
11:06
and sometimes I would you know take
11:09
other people's and modify them um and
11:15
um I I don't know sadly those are by far
11:18
the most popular like nobody want my my
11:21
music not very popular but cute animals
11:23
like I I did a video of U it was only a
11:27
12 second video of Marty
11:30
um but it was really cute he was sitting
11:32
looking out the window with his legs
11:34
spread it was really cute and he was
11:36
watching the traffic and I posted it I
11:40
think uh about 48 hours ago and just
11:44
last night it ended up hitting the
11:46
algorithm and it got um 10,000 views and
11:51
I got like 20 subscribers from it yeah
11:54
it's pretty satisfying because I like
11:56
looking at the statistics uh the
11:58
Analytics
12:00
um of the videos and so I published one
12:03
12 second video and within two days it
12:07
has already racked up over 50 hours of
12:09
view time so that's 50 continuous hours
12:14
like of TW 10,000 people watch 12
12:17
seconds and and most people watch it
12:18
more than once because when it's in the
12:21
YouTube short format it Loops you know
12:23
what I mean you just W so that's that's
12:26
actually um kind of the
12:30
like I'm not really proficient at making
12:32
really really cool videos yet so that's
12:34
kind of where you start is you start
12:35
with shorts which are vertically fil
12:38
vertical videos that are less than a
12:40
minute and you know it's kind of like
12:42
Tik Tok and you know on Facebook it's
12:44
called real um so it's a good way to get
12:48
exposure and you know I make lots and
12:50
lots of shorts and what's cool is that
12:54
they you know
12:57
um you know cuz really good video like
13:00
if you have like a 10-minute video that
13:02
should be taking probably at least 10
13:04
hours to make one 10-minute video right
13:06
like you to put a lot of time to get
13:08
some really good quality that then a lot
13:10
of people watch
13:13
and my shorts are really really good so
13:15
some of them and then I can take them
13:17
later and incorporate them into other
13:19
more complicated videos so I can spend a
13:22
lot of time making really fancy
13:24
shorts um plus that's how you get in the
13:28
algorithm you know now I'm in 10,000
13:30
different people's uh you know video
13:33
history watch watch
13:35
History you know whether they subscribed
13:38
or not I'm more likely to pop up you
13:41
know yeah and that's for more exposure
13:44
and more growth yeah so I um I just I
13:49
just that's really cool yeah just
13:51
yesterday I organized actually from my
13:54
collection of thousands of videos uh so
13:56
on my channel if you look at you know
13:59
videos that they're going to be Pro
14:00
posted in chronological order as I
14:03
posted them and that might be
14:05
overwhelming to some people the you know
14:07
like what where do you start so then
14:09
there's uh you know there's other tabs
14:10
there's shorts and then there's podcasts
and there's also
playlists and umÂ
so just uh yesterday I
actually organized all the cute animal
videos into one like convenient
14:22
playlist um I could share that with you
14:25
too I mean you know that's not even
14:27
really about me so much but you might it
14:30
might make you smile I mean it's really
14:32
cute so I've got quite a few different
14:34
things I could share with you and I
14:37
would prefer YouTube but I'm also if you
14:39
prefer I could share with you on
14:40
Facebook Instagram Tik Tok or Rumble I'm
14:44
actually I do Rumble also
14:46
and I don't know if I've ever heard of
14:49
Rumble yeah it's it's um there's no
14:51
rules over there it's kind of
14:53
nice uh that's where I posted all of the
14:56
um the narcissistic Abus Ive wife uh
15:00
documentary series which which ended up
15:03
being like 5H hour
15:05
documentary pretty good actually yeah if
15:08
I gosh well depending on how much time
15:12
you're willing to watch some of my
15:14
content I would rather you watch the uh
15:16
[ __ ] fire video or the Jeff soal
15:18
interview and then and then the
15:22
Satan the Mark Twain mysterious stranger
15:24
video uh or the um cute animal videos uh
15:29
but if you really had time and if you
15:31
really want to
15:33
like um I don't know do some like
15:36
Advanced like doctor stuff you could
15:38
watch some of the documentary because
15:42
there's videos of Shayla and how she
15:44
treated me and that might be insightful
15:46
for you to to to treat me better like
15:51
yeah like I'm still in a haze from it
15:53
man
15:54
like it it it [ __ ] me for a while
15:57
like it like I had to relearn how to do
15:59
stuff it was really like I just recently
16:02
have been getting into cooking like it
16:04
took me over a year and a half living on
16:06
my own to like connect going to the
16:08
grocery store planning a you know a meal
16:11
and buying all the ingredients for the
16:13
first year I did all like frozen dinners
16:16
like but yeah I'm blooming I'm really
16:18
good at making uh burritos and uh nachos
16:22
and I think I might have told you about
16:24
my uh brushetta oh I make a really good
16:27
brushetta um speak speaking of diet I've
16:29
been eating a lot of salad lately like
16:32
kind of crave salad I think it's cuz
16:34
actually that's something else I wanted
16:36
to mention I've been having some stomach
16:38
issues and I don't know if it's it might
16:41
be the sakil man like doing stuff to my
16:45
stomach and I might need more medicine
16:49
like a a stomach medicine or something I
16:51
should probably talk to my primary care
16:53
um yeah whoever is prescribing the Sak
16:57
if it is Rel well that's Flora Arnold
17:00
which um she is super nice so I had my
17:03
appointment with her the other day and I
17:05
told her I didn't have air conditioner
