Professions are both an active and inactive feature in Castela. We'll explain here how they work and how you can get the most out of it
Choosing a Profession no longer locks you into the specific rewards to that profession - if you're a Scribe, you can create items for Miner's and Alchemist's by visiting the NPCs in the Free Market.
Professions work as a way to develop your character and contribute to the economy. You can choose from 1-of-3 professions which gives you access to a map providing you with an ETC item while you're idle. After you've collected a number of these ETC items, you can craft items and rewards. The higher the level of your character, the faster you will learn, mine and perform alchemy (i.e. collect ETC items faster).
Alternatively, you can collect Small and Large consumerable items, which give you a large number of the ETC items you need at once (between 150-900). These consumerable items are found by fighting area bosses (Mano, Jr. Balrog, Mushmom etc).
You have a choice of 3 different roles to choose from:
Miner
Scribe
Alchemist
To pick a Profession, you need to be at least level 30. To do this, type @profession in-game or press the button above the Cash Shop button. Nack, the Head of Professions, can help answer any questions you have before you pick.
How much ETC will you receive?
Level 30-200: 1 ETC per 2 minutes
Level 200+: 2 ETC per 2 minutes
