Progression on Castela is unique - we’ve created a gameplay experience where you can choose how you want to level up and not be disadvantaged by your perferred method of playing.
Solo playing / quests: We've added over 100 custom quests and amend dozens of existing quests to improve experience gain and give you access to unique items, like rings, medals and eye accessories.
Area boss hunting: All mini bosses have been re-worked from the ground up, giving incredible rewards and far more experience. Be careful though, they do hit a lot harder now!
Party grinding: We've re-worked maps completely to improve how partying works. Clocktower Ludibrium, Lion Heart Castle & Temple of Time are just some of the maps we've altered to improve the partying experience.
Expeditions / Party Quests: We've given bosses a huge boost in experience, making them far more rewarding but limiting access to a few runs per day.
From level 40 onwards, we've changed a number of mobs / areas to give you more experience when training, so you have more areas to train outside of the normal journey in v83. There's also some great custom quests to get you from level 41 to 130 playing solo! If you like playing with others, you'll also love these changes, along with how we've amended maps to be more party friendly!
We've also fully re-worked the drop tables for hundreds of mobs (Ludibrium, Ariant, Mu Lung, El Nath, Magatia, Aqua Road, Temple of Time, Lion Heart's Castle, Future Henesys, Ereve Stronghold & Twilight Perion), along with boosting spawn rates.
Playing with other players is a great way to level-up, and we want to reward those that do party up with their guildies and buddies without making it a requirement.
We've re-worked hundreds of maps and mobs so grinding is much more efficient that in normal v83.
Here's the key things you need to know:
Party exp formula:
In a party of 2: 80 / 44 (80% goes to the attacker, 44% to the party member)
In a party of 3: 78 / 42 (78% goes to the attacker, 42% to all party members)
In a party of 4: 74 / 39 (74% goes to the attacker, 39% to all party members)
In a party of 5: 68 / 37 (68% goes to the attacker, 37% to all party members)
In a party of 6: 60 / 36 (60% goes to the attacker, 36% to all party members)
For levels 1-149, you must be within 20 levels of your party members to receive exp
For levels 150-300, you must be within 30 levels of your party members to receive exp
Not all area bosses allow players to leech
We've added some blocks to prevent players from self-leeching

Level 70+ Kerning Party Quest (KPQ): Everyone’s favourite early game PQ has had a rework. The stages remain the same, but the mobs are a lot stronger than before, but also give more experience, as does completing each stage. If you complete KPQ a number of times, you’ll be able to get Squishy Shoes (+3 all stats / +10 speed) from Spindel in the Free Market. Completing additional KPQ's will give you the unique scroll used to improve the stats by adding w.a & m.a, making them a key item!
Level 90+ Ludibrium Party Quest (LPQ): Much the same as KPQ, this quest has had a major re-work to the mob stats. The fundamentals stay the same, however Alishar now offers players a massive 450k experience, not to mention all the other mobs that have been buffed. Level 120: Zakum offers key Maker recipes to help you build new weapons.
Going solo option
Levels 120+: If you're strong enough at level 120, head to Temple of Time. The questline to move through the different maps has been altered, so you only need to kill 499 of each mob. The amount of experience you gain from each quest has been vastly increased (1-2 million experience per questline), it will help you get to around level 135 quickly.
Levels 120+: If you don't want to go to the Temple of Time, you can travel to Ninja Castle. You'll find mobs at level 120-130 roaming around here. The maps are more compact making it better suited to some classes.
Levels 130+: Make your way to Kampung and talk to Lam to start the Fantasy Park questline. Maps and mobs have been changed to improve their ratios and your ability to farm them.

Levels 150+: Head to Ice Valley II and talk to the VIP Taxi to be taken to the Lion Heart's Castle (LHC). Here you'll fight much stronger mobs. These maps are dense and relatively small. Only 2-3 platforms hold monsters making it a great place to solo train.
Levels 160+: Make your way to Korean Folk Town and talk to Kong Ji to start this questline.
Levels 170+: Zipangu has been fully re-worked and is a great place to train. You'll find a new questline there starting at level 170.
Area boss hunting:
We've changed the stats and drop list of ALL area bosses - making them hugely rewarding challenge and great way to level up!
In this early-late game phase, you can hunt Riche (level 110), Snowman (level 115), Pianus (level 120), Eliza (level 125), Dodo (level 130), Snack Bar (level 130), Lilynouch (level 140), Leviathan (level 145), Lyka (level 150) and Bigfoot (160).
Playing with others:
In a small party, Deep Ludibrium is still a great option for players. The maps are very dense and since the respawn rate is around 5 seconds, you can clear this efficiently for a lot of experience and Meso.
You should transition to Temple of Time by level 130. Mobs here have been split over two platforms - making farming parties of 2-3 people per level very effectively. These mobs pack a punch, so you'll need plenty of potions and health to survive.
Bossing progression continues - at this point, you would have cleared Papulatus a number of times as well as Zakum. It’s time to step up to the next challenge:
Level 130: Targa and Scarlion - their HP & experience has been buffed to make this more challenging and rewarding.
Level 140: Krexel has been through a major re-work to make it a far more engaging experience. In additional to fighting Krexel, you need to clear waves of minions that are looking to hurt the Innocent Duku on the bottom level, so stay on your toes. Krexel does more damage and gives more experience than before, and have a unique ring to offer.
Level 150: Horntail now provides players with the items required to build new armors, vital in stepping up from Reverse overalls, gloves, caps and shoes. Also can find Maple Warrior 20 here.
Level 160: Chaos Zakum is the next challenge. He's a big step up from regular Zakum, however his rewards are worth it.
Level 170: Pink Bean is the final key challenge in this stage. The expedition has been simplified, so you don't need to fight the Statues multiple times, making our Pink Bean take a lot less time. It's still just as difficult though, but with Timeless weapons being extremely powerful at level 160, it should be prioritised.
Going solo option
Levels 150-190: You can continue training at Lion Heart's Castle (LHC) if you're class suits the map. The ETC items will be in high demand since they'll be needed for Von Leon expedition.
Levels 190-210: Heading back to Temple of Time, you can access Future Henesys. Mobs here are huge, making the maps here excellent for solo mob training.
Levels 200-225: Continue on to Ereve Stronghold, where you'll find some larger maps. You'll need more mobility to get around these maps as they're larger in size. There are some key items to collect in order to fight Legendary Cygnus and to find top tier gear.
Levels 220-250: The final training area is Twilight Perion, where you'll find the strongest mobs in Castela. It's best to work in parties in these maps, at least a 2 person one. Unless you're particularly strong, you may want to stay in Stronghold.
Area boss hunting:
We've changed the stats and drop list of ALL area bosses - making them hugely rewarding challenge and great way to level up!
In this late game phase, you can hunt Female Boss (level 160), Red Crocky (level 170), Prison Guard Boar (level 180), Prison Guard Rhino (level 190), Kacchuu Musha (level 190), Prison Guard Ani (level 200), Advanced Knight A-E (level 215) and Ghost Stumpy (level 240).
Playing with others:
Level 200+ Pirate / Herb Town Party Quest (PPQ): This quest has had a major re-work to the mob stats. The fundamentals stay the same, however Pirate Lord now gives an enormous amount of experience and has a whopping 500 million HP. Keep in mind as well there's a time limit! If you complete PPQ a number of times, you’ll receive a Pirates Belt, which will give you a big boost in stats! You can increase w.a / m.a on this item by completing additional PPQs.
At level 180, you'll be able to start joining War Bands. These are weekly hunting quests that are best completed with others for huge EXP rewards and a Spoils Chest, which has some great items inside.
Similar to the points above, you LHC, Future Henesys, Ereve Stronghold and Twilight Perion are all excellent party maps if you have a group to play with. Mob distribution works well for groups of 3+ in most of these areas, particularly Twilight Perion.
You're hitting end game bosses at this point, who will be dealing enormous damage (including 1 hit kills):
Level 180: The Boss in Showa requires strategy to complete and to avoid dying. Completing his expedition could earn you a very valuable ring and scrolls.
Level 190: Deep in LHC is Von Leon. He's a huge challenge to overcome, with a wide range of attacks that will desimate parties if they aren't paying attention. His laser eyes are 1 hit kills, so you need to be constantly moving in order to get around him and survive. He drops a wide range of weapons and armors, making him vital as part of progression.
Level 200: Castellan Toad expedition has been re-worked - players now have to move around the map to destroy totems that make the Toad invulnerable to attacks. He attacks quickly and frequently, so be prepared. Completing this expedition will give players a unique ring and scrolls.
Level 210: Chaos Horntail has a huge 8 billion health, so requires a big, well coordinated party to take on. He's more challenging than regular Horntail, but his rewards make him worth it. You could stand to find unique earrings and pendants from his drops.
Level 210: Legendary Cygnus holds onto the Empress Blessing, vital for the next stage of item upgrades. She summons 650 million HP Shinsoo, has a 1 hit kill Dark Genesis and overall, is a menace to take on. Complete the expedition to get the items required to build Empress weapons and armors, and the materials needed for the current end-game weapons.
Level 230: Kerberos is our current final boss. He holds the key to creating Absolab Armors which give you a big boost in damage potential. You'll need to kill his Bain spawns as quickly as possible to increase the time to defeat this boss.
