ARTIST STATEMENT/BIO
Rebecca "Becky" Holden...
"I began working with clay in the late 1970’s and opened my own studio in 1984 making various decorative items for several years before attending university to explore other media and subjects. I received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Little Rock with an emphasis in sculpture in 1995."
"I moved to the Ozark Mountains in 2000 in the heart of Buffalo National River country, worked with clay for another 10 years, then realizing that my wrists were wearing out began searching for a lighter medium. I bartered teaching time for a floor loom and began my fiber journey."
"Then in September 2023 I moved to West Liberty in order to experience city living and be able to get to see my family more regularly (they live in Iowa City)."
