ARTIST STATEMENT/BIO
Carson Heath moved to West Liberty at the age of five and is the son of Linley and Richard Heath. It was around this time that he started making things out of duct tape, though early iterations were not worth more than a pat on the back from encouraging parents. After taking a long break to pursue literally anything else, he decided to make more wallets.
Now living in Iowa City, he frequently visits West Liberty. He is married to Nelly Romero-Heath. Having completed West Liberty’s Spanish/English dual language, he is proficient in both languages.
He is the grandson of West Liberty Area Arts Council president Janet Rees, so naturally has been encouraged in many areas including theatre and the arts. He likes to work on vintage Volkswagens, too, and is the Employee Designer: General Service Technician/ Customer Service and youngest employee at IC Tire.
