In the past we have raised thousands of dollars to provide travel scholarships to support the participation of worthy Caribbean delegates in subsequent meetings.
Bird or nature-related items are always very popular, especially those with a Caribbean theme or things that are hard to get at home. Things like the latest (or antique) field guides, natural history books, paintings, photographs, artwork, handicrafts, shade-grown coffee, binoculars and other field equipment, field bags, stamps, handicrafts, t-shirts, scarves, beach wraps, pins, jewelry, CDs, ceramics, carvings, iron work, tote bags, toys, puzzles, bird feeders, bird tours, educational materials, rum, and chocolate all tend to sell well. The most popular items are not always the most expensive ones but the things that catch people's imagination. Be creative!
Your donations will be very welcome and will be acknowledged on the bid sheets. Please mail donated items (preferably not too large or heavy) to: Jennifer Wheeler, 7252 Archlaw DR., Clifton, VA 20124-2128 before July 1st. For questions, contact Jennifer Wheeler at Jennifer.Wheeler@BirdsCaribbean.org
OR, if you have a local friend or colleague attending the conference, ask them if they can carry donated items for you to the conference
