Birding and Beach Tour in Punta Cana

Encounter an array of avian wonders in a guided tour along the trails and a visit to the Bird Watching Tower. Explore the Sustainability Center of the Punta Cana Foundation in a guided tour that shows the sustainable projects on the land side of Fundacion Puntacana, this includes Aquaponics, sargassum compost, worm compost and visits to see the endemic Rhinoceros Iguana, the beekeeping and the endemic, Ridgway’s hawk. End you day taking refreshing swim at the Reserva Ecológica Ojos Indígenas, where crystal-clear waters and lush surroundings create an oasis of tranquility.

4:30 a.m. Departure from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana

7:30 a.m. Induction.

8:00 a.m. Birding Tour

10:35 a.m. Coffee Break

10:45 a.m. Tour Sustainability Center Punta Cana Foundation

12:15 m. Lunch

2:00 p.m. Swim at Reserva Ecológica Ojos Indígenas

4:00 p.m. Return to Santo Domingo

What to bring:

-Sunscreen (free from oxybenzone)

-Natural insect repellent*

-A hat or cap

-A reusable water bottle

-Quick-dry pants or shorts that are comfortable

-Water-friendly footwear (for a dip in to the lagoons)

-Comfortable shoes, perhaps sneakers 

-Towels

 

Safety Considerations:

Slips, trips and falls, insect bites, dehydration, heatstroke. Wear proper clothing, stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and hat.
