Also known as Cayo Paraíso, Cayo Arena offers exceptional diving. For beginner levels, schools of tropical fish can easily be seen in shallow turquoise waters, making this place a paradise for snorkeling lovers. This area is one of the most abundant for marine life in the Dominican Republic, with corals and sponges that surround the cay, and octopuses, crabs, schools of surgeon fish, sergeant major, damselfish, angelfish, and yellowtail snappers swim at your feet.
We will also visit the mangroves, which are ecosystems mostly located in coastal wetlands and home to great biodiversity. In the country we have 4 species: red, black, white, and buttonwood mangrove.
The Post-Conference field trip (23rd) has been canceled due to the minimum number of participants not being met.
